AGAWAM -- Police arrested a 24-year-old West Springfield woman early Sunday after she allegedly kicked another woman in the head during an altercation outside the Buccaneer Lounge.
Lt. Richard Light said the incident occurred shortly before 1:15 a.m. when the victim got into an argument over music playing inside the Maple Street lounge and went outside to call her sister for a ride home.
The argument continued outside the lounge and the woman told police that she was knocked to the ground and kicked in the head. When she attempted to call 911 on her cell phone it was kicked away, Light said.
Krista Getz, 24, of 136 Silver St., West Springfield, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a shod foot) and intimidating a witness.
Light said the Buccaneer is not known to be a trouble spot. "It's been fairly quiet throughout the years," he said.
