The storm is expected to dump at least 8 inches of snow across Massachusetts, according to meteorologist Nick Morganelli of CBS 3 Springfield, media partner of The Republican/MassLive.com.
Here is a list of canceled events this weekend:
• The annual Lucia celebration sponsored by the Swedish fraternal organization Brage-Iduna Lodge scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 15 at 3 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, East Longmeadow, 181 Elm St., has been canceled.
• The West Springfield High School drama production of "A Christmas Carol," scheduled for Saturday has been postponed.
Here is a list of parking bans:
Chicopee: Mayor Michael Bissonnette announced on his Facebook page that a parking ban will be in effect Saturday from 10 p.m. until Sunday at 10 a.m.
Greenfield: Parking on both sides of the street is prohibited from 4 p.m. on Saturday through noon on Sunday on all residential streets. (there is always a regular winter parking ban from Dec. 1 to April 1 that prohibits parking on the south and east sides of the street; it also prohibits parking between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. on any street or municipal parking lot. There is no overnight parking in parking lots except in designated areas of the Chapman/Davis Street lot, Hope St Lot and Legion Lot.)
Holyoke: No parking from noon on Saturday to 7 a.m. on Monday. No parking on odd-side of streets.
Monson: A parking ban will be in effect starting Saturday at noon. The ban will remain in effect until further notice, according to Police Chief Stephen Kozloski Jr.
Springfield: A parking ban will be in effect beginning Saturday at 7 p.m. until further notice. During the ban there will be no parking on the even side of the street from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. and no parking on the odd side from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. while the ban is in effect.
West Springfield: A parking ban goes into effect on Saturday. No parking will be allowed on any street, according to the city's website.
