Street flooding reported in Holyoke, Springfield, Chicopee and West Springfield as heavy rain falls in Western Massachusetts

The National Weather Service has issued a flash-flood warning for much of Western Massachusetts untrl

HOLYOKE — Police warn of street flooding in low-lying areas as heavy rains continue to fall in Western Massachusetts.

Street flooding, according to police, has been reported on Northampton Street, where a section of road has sustained a minor washout, and in such areas as Lyman and Walnut streets, Cabot and Commercial streets, 1045 Main St. in front of Dean Technical High School and 1233 Main St. in front of Providence Hospital.

Street flooding has also been reported in Springfield on Page Boulevard under the Interstate 291 overpass and in West Springfield, Chicopee and Agawam.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin counties until 6 p.m.
