AMHERST — The Amherst Survival Center is celebrating the opening of its new facility on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.
The center moved from the former North Amherst School basement into the 6,000-square-foot facility at 138 Sunderland Road last month financed by a $2.5 million capital campaign.
The new facility is on the site of the former Rooster’s Restaurant and was designed to meet the service needs of the Survival Center, which has seen a 56 percent increase in demand the last four years, according to a press release.
