SPRINGFIELD — A city man has been charged with murder in connection with a 2010 killing, but authorities have yet to release details about the homicide case.
Josh Oquendo, 27, of 52 Edendale St., Apt. 2, was arrested on warrants for murder and driving with a revoked license at 10 a.m. Tuesday at 10 Littleton St. in the Hungry Hill section of the city, according to Springfield Police Department records.
Capt. Larry Brown, a police commander reached early Wednesday, confirmed the murder warrant was for a 2010 homicide case, but he had no further details.
A detective contacted by The Republican/MassLive.com said a police report didn't include details about the underlying homicide case. More information would likely be available later Wednesday, he said.
Oquendo was expected to be arraigned Tuesday, according to the detective. Details of that court hearing were not immediately available.
The records indicate Oquendo was arrested inside the Littleton Street residence, but his connection to that address, if any, was unclear.
