Gov. Deval Patrick is returning from a trade mission to Ireland with Massachusetts Senate President Therese Murray.
BOSTON (AP) — Gov. Deval Patrick is returning from a trade mission to Ireland with Massachusetts Senate President Therese Murray.
Patrick is expected back in the state Friday afternoon after a three-day visit aimed at strengthening economic ties with Massachusetts 14th largest export partner.
During the visit, Patrick and Murray met with the Ireland's Prime Minister Enda Kenny.
Patrick also has met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade for Ireland Eamon Gilmore. He also attended a Digital Health and Life Sciences Trade Summit sponsored by the Massachusetts' Life Sciences Center.
In 2012, Massachusetts sent more than $509 million in goods and services to Ireland. The Bay State is also Ireland's sixth largest import partner.
