SPRINGFIELD - The city Department of Public Works will launch its annual curbside yard waste collection beginning Tuesday, according to city officials.
Yard waste will be collected every other week according to each street's regular recycling day.
Leaves are to be placed in brown, paper leaf bags that are available in hardware stores and supermarkets. No plastic bags will be accepted.
Leaves may also be placed in containers up to 30-gallons in size and weighing no more than 40 pounds.
Branches should be 3 inches in diameter or less and tied together in manageable bundles.
