Ludlow resident James Pease facing charges related to child pornography

James Pease, 34, was indicted on four counts of sexual exploitation of a child, receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography.

SPRINGFIELD - A Ludlow man was charged on Thursday in U.S. District Court in Springfield with offenses related to sexual exploitation of children and possession of child pornography, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

James Pease, 34, was indicted on four counts of sexual exploitation of a child, receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography.

According to the indictment, Pease is accused of attempting on four occasions between 2010 and 2012 to use a minor in the production of child pornography. It also alleges that between 2006 and 2012, Pease received and was in possession of child pornography.

If convicted, Pease could be sentenced from 15 to 30 years on the exploitation charges, from 5 to 20 years on the receipt of pornography, and as much as 10 years for the possession charge.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Alex J. Grant of the U.S. Attorney's Springfield Branch Unit.
