William Shays, 72, of Winter Haven, Fla., formerly of Springfield, passed away on Saturday. He was born in Springfield. He retired in 1997 from Mason Wright assisted living facility in Springfield as a maintenance worker. He also was a handyman, often building, fixing something, doing landscaping or volunteering for the neighborhood council.
