Nine break-ins were reported in various city neighborhoods.
SPRINGFIELD - Police urge residents to be vigilant as they investigate a slight uptick in breaks-in throughout various city neighborhoods over the weekend.
Sgt. John Delaney said there was no discernible pattern to the break-ins save to say entry was gained in some of them through unlocked doors and electronics were frequently targeted.
Nine break-ins were reported in the Pine Point, Six Corners. Liberty Heights, Old Hill and East Forest Park neighborhoods. For more detail, click on the Springfield Police Department’s Facebook page.
Delaney, aide to Commissioner William Fitchet, said residents should call 911 to report any suspicious activity, make sure all doors are locked - including connecting garage doors and consider taking cell phone pictures of jewelry in case it is stolen.
