A section of Bridge Street has been closed since Jan. 4, following a water main break near Tower Square in Springfield.
SPRINGFIELD — A section of Bridge Street in downtown Springfield, closed for nearly two weeks, reopened Friday afternoon following repairs to a water main and the roadway.
The Springfield Water and Sewer Commission completed the repairs Friday and announced the reopening of Bridge Street, from Main Street to East Columbus Avenue.
The cost of repairs was not immediately available. A six-inch diameter water line fractured on Jan. 4, near Tower Square, causing significant road and sidewalk damage.
