Police arrested Rosa-Roman in November, 2013.

SPRINGFIELD -- Dennis Rosa-Roman, accused in the 2011 Chicopee murder of Amanda Plasse, denied the charge at his arraignment in Hampden Superior Court Monday.

Rosa-Roman held without right to bail. A pre-trial hearing was set for June 30.

Plasse was found stabbed to death on Aug. 26, 2011 in her third-floor apartment at 73 School St. Police arrested Rosa-Roman in November, 2013.

A grand jury indicted Rosa-Roman in late December, which moved the case from District Court to Superior Court and required a new arraignment.

To date, no information has been released by Hampden district attorney Mark G. Mastroianni about any connection between Plasse and Rosa-Roman or any motive.

In late November Springfield District Court Judge Phillip A. Beattie agreed to a request by The Republican to lift an impoundment order filed by Mastroianni relating to documents in the case. An appeal of that ruling by Mastroianni is now pending before the state Appeals Court.

This is a developing story. Details will be added as our reporting continues.
