Joseph William Aberdale, 75, of Housatonic, passed away on Wednesday. Born in Springfield, he graduated from Technical High School in 1956. He received a bachelor of science in pharmacy from Hampden College of Pharmacy in Chicopee in 1960. He also served in the National Guard. He and his wife became proprietors of Housatonic Pharmacy and A&J Sporting Goods in 1961. Housatonic Pharmacy eventually transformed into Aberdale's. He was a captain of the Great Barrington Fire Department, and also served as deputy sheriff of Berkshire County for many years.
