The break-ins remain under investigation.

Three businesses were broken into on Nov. 27 in Monson, Palmer and Wales, and police are investigating whether they are connected and related to other commercial break-ins that happened that night in Southbridge, Auburn and Connecticut.

Monson Police Chief Stephen Kozloski Jr. said someone smashed a window at Maria's Pizzeria and Seafood on Main Street and removed the cash register.

A man was arrested in Ellington, Conn. and is suspected of committing the local breaks, he said. Kozloski said charges are expected but have not yet been filed due to the complexity of the case and multiple jurisdictions and states involved.

He said there was a rash of commercial breaks over the last several weeks throughout southeastern Massachusetts and central Connecticut.

In Palmer, the Acropolis Pizza on Park Street was broken into, and in Wales, Choice Food on Main Street also was targeted.
