An armed robbery suspect is being sought by police in the Flats area of Holyoke
HOLYOKE -- Holyoke police are searching for a man who witnesses say showed a handgun as he beat and robbed his victim Friday morning, then fled the area on foot.
Holyoke Police Sgt. Charles Monfett said police were first notified of the incident at 5:43 a.m. when several 911 calls reported one man choking another near the intersection of Cabot and South Summer streets. The first officer on scene, Szymon Wolanszyk, found the victim injured but conscious. The unidentified man was taken to the Holyoke Hospital emergency department for treatment. Monfett said there is no word on his current condition.
The alleged victim described his assailant as Hispanic, wearing all black clothes, and with long hair. He said the alleged robber showed a handgun.
