West Springfield was hardest hit with 48 WMECO customers without power of about 8:50 a.m.

SPRINGFIELD – The cold front responsible for dozens of tornadoes and intense thunderstorms across the Midwest on Sunday has brought gusty winds and scattered power outages to Western Massachusetts.

CBS3 meteorologist Mike Skurko said that severe weather is not expected here in Western Massachusetts. Steady rains reported earlier in the morning are giving way to sunny skies. Monday afternoon will be breezy, with a high of 63.

West Springfield has been among those hardest hit with 48 customers without power as of about 8:50 a.m., according to Western Massachusetts Electric Co.

Granville and Blandford posted 28 and 21 outages respectively, according to WMECO. All told, some 110 of the utility’s 213,061 were without power.

National Grid reported a handful of outages in Western Massachusetts.
