SPRINGFIELD - Police are investigating another shooting at Canon Circle, the second one in a week.
Police Lt. Robert P. Moynihan said the shooting happened at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Friday at 320 Canon Circle in the Sixteen Acres section. He said a man was inside his apartment when he was shot in his right arm. The bullet came through the door, Moynihan said. The man was taken to Baystate Medical Center for treatment.
The culprit was not found, police said.
"It's possible (the victim) has more information to give . . . but lots of times they are very reluctant to give information," Moynihan said.
On Aug. 31, a woman at 72 Canon Circle was shot in the buttocks while sitting on her couch. That shooting happened just before 2 a.m. and police suspect she was not an intended victim. Police characterized it as a "random and bizarre event." She was not seriously injured.
