The single-car crash happened on South Monson Road, less than a mile west of the Monson border.
HAMPDEN — Power was knocked out to some National Grid customers after a vehicle struck a utility pole near 104 South Monson Road at about 4 p.m. Sunday.
The impact of the crash caused the pole and electrical wires to fall onto the car, whose driver was uninjured.
The incident happened just west of Highland Circle, about three-quarters of a mile west of the Monson line, and prompted authorities to reroute traffic while fire and utility crews dealt with the situation.
It was not immediately clear if speed or road conditions contributed to the accident. Roads were slick from heavy rainfall from earlier in the afternoon, and the section of South Monson Road where the crash occurred is hilly and tortuous.
By early Monday, everything was back to normal with no reported injuries, power outages or road closures associated with the crash, a Hampden police spokesman said.
National Grid was reporting no outages in town as of 2 a.m.
