Two armed robbers stabbed and slashed their victim before taking $340 in cash.
SPRINGFIELD— A Springfield man was transported to the Baystate Medical Center with stab wounds to his left arm after he was stabbed in an armed robbed shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday.
The victim told police two men, one armed with a handgun and the other with a knife, stopped him as he walked on Wlbraham Avenue at the intersection King Street near the Springfield College campus. The alleged robbers demanded money and stabbed and slashed the victim before he could comply.
Capt. Trent Duda confirmed that Springfield police are investigating the robbery.
The victim called police at 1:55 a.m. to report the incident. He told police two black men took $340 from his wallet before leaving him.
