Power was knocked out by thunderstorms overnight.
SPRINGFIELD— A rolling thunderstorm knocked power out to scattered cities and towns across Western Mass. shortly after 2 a.m.Sunday.Western Massachusetts Electric Company Community Relations Lead John O'Toole said the largest area currently without power is in the 496 customers in the Ludlow and Springfield areas.
O'Toole said Ludlow is the hardest hit in the Chapin Street area, and East Street and Boston Road. Several streets in Springfield are blacked out due to limbs on trees as well. He said crews are working on scene and expect to have power fully restored by approximately 4 a.m. Sunday.
According to the company's online outage map, communities across the region were hit with outages. Sandifield, Windsor, Worthington and Colrain each suffered some lose of power to WMECO customers.
