A boyfriend allegedly assaulted his girlfriend with a bottle, according to Springfield Police Lt. Henry Gagnon.
SPRINGFIELD — Police investigated a report of a boyfriend who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend with a bottle near the corner of Belmont Avenue and Oakland Street in the city's Forest Park neighborhood early Thursday.
"The boyfriend knocked out her teeth," a responding officer reported at about 1:15 a.m.
Springfield Police Lt. Henry Gagnon confirmed the domestic assault, but a police report didn't specify the extent of the woman's injuries, he said.
The boyfriend allegedly used a bottle to assault the woman and had yet to be arrested as of 4:15 a.m., Gagnon said.
The incident reportedly happened near Food Zone International Supermarket at the corner of Belmont and Oakland.
