Anderson was stuck and killed as he was climbing back into his truck after stopping in the break-down lane.
BALTIMORE (AP) — Maryland Transportation Authority Police have identified a tractor-trailer driver who was killed in a hit-and-run accident after fixing a flat tire on Interstate 95 in Baltimore.
MDTA Police Chief Colonel Michael Kundrat said in an email Friday that 57-year-old Jeffrey R. Anderson of Chicopee, Mass., was struck and killed Thursday morning.
Authorities say Anderson was struck as he was getting back into his rig, which had stopped on the shoulder of the interstate.
Officers say after striking Anderson, the vehicle hit his tractor-trailer and a tire service vehicle.
A suspect vehicle was caught several miles away. Police say charges are pending.
