Gloria Jean Jackson, a resident of Northampton and previously of Amherst, passed away on July 11. She was born and raised in Albany, N.Y., and graduated from Philip Schuyler High School in 1966. She was a graduate of Florida A&M University. In 1984, she moved to Amherst with her family, and started a consignment business in the Amherst Carriage Shops. She later became an occasional worker/evaluator for National Evaluation Systems in Hadley, from which she recently retired.
