WILBRAHAM - The Board of Selectmen announced Monday that portions of Stony Hill Road and Monson Road will be closed this week for paving.
Stony Hill Road was scheduled to be closed from Oakland Street to Soule Road between Tuesday and Friday, Selectman Chairman James Thompson said.
The road was scheduled to be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A detour of Soule Road to Oakland Street was scheduled to be set up, the Department of Public Works said.
Thompson said Monson Road would be closed Tuesday and Wednesday from Glendale Road to Ridge Road.
The Department of Public Works also announced that Palmer Paving would begin reclamation work this week on Stony Hill Road, south of Soule Road to the town line, as well as on Tall Timber Drive, Woodside Drive, Fairview Road and East Longmeadow Road between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Residents were advised to expect delays or seek alternate routes.
All work would be done, weather permitting.
Also at Monday’s selectmen’s meeting, selectmen voted to appoint Maggie Wurm to a three-year term on the Commission on Disability.
The board also approved the hiring of a library page for the Wilbraham Public Library on the recommendation of Library Director Karen Demers.
Demers said a library page is needed to replace a page who left to take a library job at Westfield State University
Also at Monday’s selectmen’s meeting, the board gave its approval for Dana’s Grillroom on Boston Road to create an outdoor dining area for up to 24 restaurant patrons which would be accessible from the restaurant.
Selectmen also approved a temporary food establishment permit and a Sunday entertainment license for the 250th anniversary committee to hold an anniversary picnic Aug. 18 at Spec Pond from 1 to 5 p.m.
