The chief and canine unit were at the scene of a shooting at Hampshire and Walnut streets.
HOLYOKE -- Police are combing the area of Walnut and Hampshire streets after a shooting injured one person seriously and left blood on the hood of a parked car.
A call came about a shooting to police about 9:25 p.m. in an alley in that area. Information about the victim was unavailable, Sgt. Philip J. McKay said.
Police Chief James M. Neiswanger, the canine unit and numerous cruisers were on the scene, and officers had blocked traffic into the area. Blood was splattered on a white car parked on Walnut Street.
