Greenfield police and firefighters spent Tuesday searching in and around the Green River where Hamel, a homeless man was known to camp.
GREENFIELD - A Greenfield man who was the subject of a river search when it was feared his camp site had been washed away by rising water, has been found unharmed, according to Greenfield police.
Greenfield police report the search for Daniel Hamel, 53, has been called off Wednesday once they verified he was safe.

He had last been seen on Monday, and it was feared his campsite had been swept away by the swollen river.
.ABC 40 reported that Hamel was apparently unaware that anyone was looking for him until learning it from the local media.
