NYPD: Michigan man dies during annual New York City-wide bicycle tour

Police say Michael Boren went into cardiac arrest after crossing the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge on Sunday morning.

5513_new_york_city.jpgAuthorities said that Michael Boren, a Michigan man who suffered cardiac arrest while participating in the 40-mile TD Five Boro Bike Tour, was declared dead on arrival at Weill Cornell Medical Center on Sunday in New York. 

NEW YORK – Police say a 51-year-old Michigan man has died after suffering a heart attack during the annual New York City-wide bicycle tour.

Police say Michael Boren went into cardiac arrest Sunday morning after crossing the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge that links Queens and Manhattan. He was taking part in the 40-mile TD Five Boro Bike Tour.

Authorities said he was declared dead on arrival at New York Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Boren lived in Almont, Mich., north of Detroit.
