File photo of Springfield Lodge of Elks fishing derby conducted annually at Barney Pond at Forest Park in Springfield. SPRINGFIELD – The city and the Springfield Lodge of Elks #61 will conduct the 50th annual Elks Fishing Derby on Saturday at Barney Pond at Forest Park.
The fishing derby is from 7:30 a.m. to noon for boys and girls ages 12 and younger.
One trophy per child will be awarded for tagged trout caught. There is a three-trout limit. A grand prize of a $50 shopping spree will be awarded to the child who catches the longest tagged trout.
A free raffle will be conducted throughout the derby.
