SOUTH HADLEY – A groundbreaking celebration is scheduled for the proposed South Hadley Public Library at the 2 Canal St. on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
The $10.1 million building will replace the old library.
Funding includes voter approval to borrow $4.2 million that would be repaid over 20 years, a state library board $4.8 million grant and local fund-raising.
According to library director Joseph Rodio, the ceremonial groundbreaking includes officials from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
