IRAN -- The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting a magnitude 7.8 earthquake centered roughly 50 miles outside the city of Khash, near the country's border with Pakistan.
The earthquake was detected at approximately 3:14 p.m. local time.
The agency measured the earthquake at a depth of 15.2 kilometers, or 9.4 miles.
Reuters reports that the earthquake was felt as far away New Delhi, India, nearly 1,400 miles from the epicenter.
There are no reports yet of injuries or damage.
