Drugs and weapons confiscated from vehicle stop after Palmer shooting
SPRINGFIELD -- Springfield police stopped a car fleeing a shooting incident in Palmer and arrested three men on drug and guns charges. Witnesses who saw the shooting near a Palmer bar shortly after 1 a.m. traveled to Springfield to identify the three and the car they were in.
Lt. Henry Gagnon said this morning that 28-year-old Shamall Smith, of 126 Ranney St in Springfield and Nathan Pinare, 31, of 103 Essex Street in Indian Orchard were both charged with possession of a Class B substance with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm without a license and possession of ammunition without an FID card. Scott White, 27, of 28 Otis St. in Ware, was charged with possession of a Class B substance with the intent to distribute and possession of a dangerous weapon, to wit brass knuckles. The three are being held pending arraignment.
Palmer police reported a single shot was fired near a Wilbraham Street bar at approximately 1:15 a.m. Witnesses said the shooter, a Hispanic male wearing a cap fired one round from the passenger side of a 2000 gold Nissan Altima. A 9mm shell casing was found at the scene. No one was apparently injured in the shooting.

Springfield police stopped the vehicle near the intersection of Parker Street and Boston Road shortly after 2 a.m. and arrested the three, confiscating drugs and weapons from the car. Witnesses from Palmer identified the suspects, Gagnon said.
